Supplier Information

We value our supplier partnerships and appreciate your interest in doing business with the university. This section is designed to help suppliers navigate our processes, understand requirements, and find opportunities to work with us. Here you’ll find guidance on registration, solicitations, and compliance, as well as helpful resources to make your experience with Virginia Tech straightforward and rewarding. Whether you’re a new supplier or a long-time partner, we look forward to working together to support the university’s mission.

All new suppliers to the University or interested in doing business with the University should go through the following four-step registration process before receiving a purchase order from the University.

  1. University Supplier Registration Form- Complete and return the Supplier Registration Form (W-9) to Virginia Tech Procurement, MSC 0333, Blacksburg, VA 24061. For assistance with completing this form, contact Procurement at (540) 231-6221.
  2. eVA Supplier Registration- All suppliers of the university are required to also be register with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s e-Procurement System, known as eVA. For assistance with completing this registration, contact the Department of General Services eVA HelpLine at 866-289-7367.
  3. Wells One Payment Card Program- The University encourages all suppliers to join the Wells One Payment Card Program for payment processing of all invoices.
  4. Supplier Diversity- Determine if your firm meets the guidelines for SWaM Certification. The University requests all suppliers who meet the Commonwealth of Virginia’s definition of a small, woman-owned, or minority-owned (SWaM) business to register with the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity.   1. Small business - An independently owned and operated business which, together with affiliates, has 250 or fewer employees or average annual gross receipts of ten million dollars or less averaged over the previous three years. Department of Minority Business Enterprise (DMBE) certified women-owned and minority-owned business shall also be considered small business when they have received DMBE small business certification.
  2. Women-owned business – A business concern that is at least 51% owned by one or more women who are U. S. citizens or legal resident aliens, or in the case of a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity, at least 51% of the equity ownership interest is owned by one or more women who are citizens of the United States or non-citizens who are in full compliance with the United States immigration law, and both the management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more women who are U. S. citizens or legal resident aliens.
  3. Minority-owned business – A business concern that is at least 51% owned by one or more minority individuals (see Section 2.2-1401, Code of Virginia) or in the case of a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity, at least 51% of the equity ownership interest in the corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity is owned by one or more minority individuals and both the management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more minority individuals.
