Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad (VTRS) administers the Virginia Tech Policy 5450: University Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Policy.

Departments must contact VTRS to inquire about purchasing an AED. You may also contact the campus AED coordinator to request a form.

The AED Coordinator will contact the end user to discuss the requirements for the AED purchase. Once approved, a Public Access AED Departmental Approval and Ordering Information memorandum will be provided. Please attach the memorandum to the requisition in HokieMart to confirm VTRS is aware of the purchase, so the AED is added to their master inventory list.
